National Geographic showcased its Emmy contenders at Eataly Los Angeles last night. Antonio Banderas, Ken Biller, Davina Lamont, Sonu Mishra, and Alex Rich were representing and talking about Genius: Picasso. Now in its second season, the show looked at young artist Picasso in Fascist Spain and his rise to becoming one of the most iconic artists of the 20th Century.
Michael Kelly, Martha Raddatz, Mikko Alanne from The Long Road Home had an interactive experience for sound editing. A large display showcased how the set right here in the USA was transformed into Sadr City, Iraq.
Jane’s director, Brett Morgen explained how footage from the National Geographic archives was edited and color corrected to transport us back to Jane Goodall’s Gombe.
Jane Root and former astronauts Leland Melvin and Jerry Linenger virtual reality showcase allowed Emmy voters to watch revolutionary VR footage shot on the International Space Station.
