Russell’s 2013 Best Picture nominee Silver Linings Playbook perhaps best represents Russell’s odd sensibilities. Mixing romantic melodrama with comedy, the film was warmly received by critics and audiences. It eventually won Jennifer Lawrence an Oscar for the role. After five years since its original release, Megan asks Joey and Clarence to revisit the film and whether or not their original reactions to the film still stand. Particularly outside of the heat of the 2013 Oscar season. Finally, where does Silver Linings Playbook stand in the David O. Russell canon?
