Thank You

Two words – Thank You. I don’t know what else to say other than that. I remember when I was sitting at my desk and got the message that Awards Daily was looking for a writer. My friend, Emily Page sent it to me. Together, we had spent many hours reading the Oscar blogs and Awards Daily was one of them. Why not? We thought. So, I sent the email off, not thinking I’d get a response.

Well, I did, and the rest, as they say, is history. At the time, I was living in London, in a long-distance relationship. I didn’t think I’d move to LA, but I did. As soon as I moved here, I emailed Sasha to let her know I was now in LA.

There are so many memories and so many highlights. I said it on the podcast, but with Ryan as my editor and Sasha as my mentor, I wanted to become a better writer. Every piece she wrote made me want to be better and find words that would do her proud. Every tweak and feedback Ryan gave me made me stop for a second.

Behind the scenes, we all went through a shit lot together. Like family stuff. Stuff where we’d just write. Not even talk about films or awards, just about what we were going through.

I gained friends in both Ryan and Sasha. Sasha gave me a platform to be where I am today, and I know I would not be off to Variety tomorrow if not for her, giving me that opportunity.

I also want to shout out to the TV team; Clarence, David, Joey, Megan and Jalal who shine when it comes to the Emmys. They do a terrific job and really make me laugh when we’re picking shows and what to cover. They work incredibly hard and are the best team I could have asked for.

But, Sasha Stone, you are incredible for what you have created in me, for what you gave me. Ryan, you tolerated my emails and the days where I’d just bombard you with pieces. To you both, THANK YOU!! FOR LIFE!!!!
