The Lumiere Awards from Advanced Imaging Center handed out their awards last night. Frozen 2 won big with Best Immersive Feature, Original Song and use of HDR. Our very own Jazz Tangcay reports for Variety’s Artisans.

Glad Frozen II won something big. And I’m happy it got the Original Song nom. I still think it stinks that this did not get a Best Animated Film nomination. I understand how some could think this doesn’t hold up versus other contenders. But I thought this film was even superior to the original; and with better animation and music, to boot.
I don’t think the music was better but that animation was incredibly impressive… I found myself spending a lot of the movie just staring in awe at a lot of the textures!
That’s a courageous attitude to take in this neck of the woods 🙂

I think the first one definitely has the better music. But holy moly is Frozen 2 gorgeous looking. One of the most stunning animated films to look at.
Agreed. I wasn’t big on the first one but I really liked the second one.

Hardly a consolation prize, considering what happened at the Annies last night . Any chance of BAFTA goodness is slim and none, and slim just left town.
