So what’s the favorite for documentary, Time or Colectiv? (Or something else? I see Gold Derby doesn’t have predictions and odds for these two categories at this stage, which is a bit surprising.)
For the Oscars I´d argue “Time” because it´s a very American story. I liked Collective better but I don´t think it can beat the former.
🙁 So is foreign film its best shot at a win?
Popping out of curiosity after a while, to see if there were any updates on more critics awards and…
… seriously, what happens with this site and Maria Bakalova? Not only she’s not in the running list of the frontpage despite being a Globe and SAG nominee, and made the BAFTA shortlist (she’s the frontrunner for that one, as you can see in this London Film Critics awards)… but also her nomination at the Globes is atributed to Meryl Streep for The Prom. Someone is not doing his/her job, or is trying to obscure her and her film, or is playing wishful thinking? Peace and out.
(don’t get me wrong, I am not harassing, I am just pointing out what it is obviously an embarrassing mistake on the very main frontpage… it’s OK if you think Bakalova won’t be nominated in the end, but her triumphant run on precursors simply can’t be hidden at this point, anymore)
Nomadland is sweeping the critics awards. It’s the early frontrunner
I just watched the trailer for Saint Maud It looks really good It looks like a cross between Carrie and The Exorcist .
Actually Saint Maud is closer to Taxi Driver. Trust me, I’ve seen it.
Good call. It also feels like Polanski is lurking in the background. Regardless, it’s a fantastic debut and along with His House is the two best horror movies of 2020.
