It’s funny to hear how Chastain has to somehow AMP UP her sexiness to match Stewart. Sure, Stewart is very attractive and younger. But for me, Chastain is drop dead gorgeous and has been killing it on the red carpet and other media things that I have seen for the past month or so. BUT. I also know what you’re all saying. You have to be everywhere and you have to flaunt it everywhere, it seems. Tough industry.
I agree. I thought that was ridiculous.
Great podcast! Keep ’em coming. And I agree with Steve Adams, need those Gold Tripping ones, as well. These podcasts are a pleasure to listen to.
Go glad to hear you looking at firing up Gold Tripping again Sasha. I really was enjoying that podcast and have been hoping it would make a comeback! I was also glad to Mark mention Being the Ricardos towards the end as well. It’s barely got a mention on AD and I think it may surprise and be a strong late player.
I loved Eyes of Tammy Faye. Chastain should win. She should be a repeat winner. I can’t imagine Stewart beating her. I like Stewart in certain roles but find her a little unlikable personally—sorry. It might turn out to be like Mulligan where people said Frances was personally a riot but Carey was too dour.
I would rather have Chastain and her CV than Kristen on a magazine cover. God!!!! I would say “they can’t be that stupid, can they?” But we know the answer. They can be and have been. Sorry, I am in a bad mood and throwing some shade, lol, but I actually mean it.
So glad to hear you guys. I have early predictions but will keep them close to the vest so I can try to defeat my buddy Claudiu in our fun Oscar contest. We pick winners very early.
Y’all are crazy for not even mentioning Ruth Negga. She gives the performance of the year in Passing.
Ann Dowd’s prospects remain bleak.
