Sasha Stone has been around the Oscar scene since 1999. Almost everything on this website is her fault.

Best Picture: RRR over Top Gun
Best Actor: 5th slot goes to Gabriel La Belle(other 4 are Brendan, Austin, Colin, and Bill).
Best Screenplay: The Menu
Runner up: Best Actress Mia Goth.
Val Kilmer is nominated for Best Supporting Actor in Top Gun: Maverick, Angela Lansbury is nominated for Best Supporting Actress in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, Judi Dench is nominated for Best Supporting Actress in Allelujah.
In the spirit of Keisha Castle-Hughes and all the people who predicted her best actress nomination (were there any?), I’m predicting a nomination in director for Charlotte Wells, only because she absolutely deserves it.
Yes, I know Castle-Hughes had a SAG nom that year in supporting.
1. Daniels snubbed in best director
2. Charlotte Wells nominated in best director and screenplay.
3. Albrecht Schuch in best supporting actor.
1. Triangle of Sadness Best Picture
2. Ostlund Best Director
3. Dolly De Leon Supporting Actress
1. Spielberg snubbed
2. No Supporting Actress noms for EEAAO
3. Nina Hoss in Supporting Actress
Aftersun lands 5 nominations – Best Picture, Best Director, Actor, Original Screenplay and Editing.
Nina Hoss in for Supporting Actress for TAR
Blonde gets a Best Picture or Screenplay nomination
After the Razzie nominations, that would be very interesting for Blonde. I don’t know if any other film has ever accomplished that stat.
1. Highly Overrated EEAAO gets only 2-3 technical nominations and a couple of acting nominations.
2. James Cameron gets nomination for Direction
3. Tom Cruise gets nomination for TG.
Nope for Sound, Cinematography, Score, and Visual Effects
Charlotte Wells for Director
Decision to Leave for Original Screenplay
Rajamouli, Berger, and Ostland get in for Director.
Andrea Riseborough AND Mia Goth sneak in for Actress.
All Quiet on the Western Front gets the most nominations including BP AND International Film.
I will scream with happiness if Mia Goth gets in for Pearl!
Jeremy Pope in Best Actor
No Viola Davis in Best Actress
Thirteen Lives in Visual Effects
1. Spielberg misses Screenplay and/or Director
2. The Menu pops up somewhere
3. Moonage Daydream in for Sound, but misses in Doc
Bonus: Total nominations from all Women directed movies is 5 nominations or less (not counting docs/shorts/animated/international). The Academy just has a history of shooting itself in the foot right after they make progress. Like Oscar’s so White the year after awarding 12 Years a Slave.
1. Martin McDonagh misses Best Director, which I think can happen easily and I would be pleased with basically any replacement from among the top contenders.
2. Knives Out: Glass Onion misses out on everything.
3. Guillermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio gets nominated for Best Picture.
For my main, non-NGNG predictions, I did each category separately and ended up with your #2 NGNG here. 0 for Glass Onion.
Avatar snubbed in Best Picture
No Judd Hirsch
Riseborough gets in
Best Actress: Mia Goth in Pearl
For the love of God!
No Guts No Glory
Song: Good Afternoon
International Feature: The Quiet Girl (Ireland)
Director: Park Chan Wook
Actress: Andrea Riseborough
Tom Cruise – Best Actor
Jean Smart – Best Supporting Actress
Woody Harrelson – Best Supporting Actor
Don’t Worry Darling Gets a Costume and Score Nom
Adam Sandler finally gets recognized with Hustle
The Sea Beast (inexplicably ignored this year) gets the last Animated Film slot.
Spielberg not nominated for Director
The Menu for Picture
RRR for writing
[Edit] OMG, I just realized I matched Sasha on two of these. So let me add,
Keke Palmer in for Nope
Top Gun snubbed for Editing
Park Chan-wook gets nominated for Director
A House Made of Splinters gets nominated for Documentary
Keke Palmer-Best Supporting Actress (Nope)
Nope-Best Picture
Tom Cruise-Best Supporting Actor ( TGM) ( I know category fraud and I’m here for it)
Hugh Jackman-Best Actor (The Son)
The Batman-Best Picture
1. Three foreign language films in Picture: AQotWF; Decision to Leave; RRR
2. Actress: Emma Thompson
3. Animated Feature: Apollo 10 1/2
NGNG: 1) Jamie lee curtis snubbed for best supporting actress
2) Nina hoss nominated for best supporting actress
3) Steven Spielberg snubbed for best director
Spieberg misses out for best director. Directors from three foreign films are represented (All Quiet, RRR and Decision to Leave).
1. Gabriel LaBelle, The Fabelmans in Lead Actor
2. Michelle Williams, The Fabelmans in Supporting Actress instead of Lead
3. ‘The Northman’ gets nominated for something, anything please!
RRR (Best Picture and Best Director)
Pearl (Best Actress and Cinematography)
Top Gun: Maverick completely shut out
1) Spielberg is going to miss the cut in Directing.
2) S.S. Rajamouli will be nominated in Best Director.
3) The Woman King will be nominated in Best Picture and Best Director.
Three predictions, as (always) requested:
1. Nope – five nominations total
2. EEAaO – five ACTING nominations
3. All Quiet on the Western Front – only five nominations
https://media1.giphy.com/media/gJ2sRyTS2tBEwXkLZT/giphy.gif
I fully support these. I can’t even bring myself to hope for one Nope nomination.
-Spielberg misses out in directing for Baz Luhrmann instead (which would be beyond terrible)
-Hanks gets nominated for both Lead Actor for A Man Called Otto and Supporting Actor for Elvis (which would be funny knowing what the Razzie nominations are)
-Women Talking has a major comeback including Picture, Director, Supp. Actor and two Supp. Actress noms (in addition to the Screenplay and score predictions)
RRR for Best Picture (and All Quiet not)
Women Talking’s sole nomination: Frances McDormand
Good Afternoon….please?
NGNG:
Western Front: Picture, Director, Screenplay, Editing, Cinematography, Production Design, Foreign, Sound, Score
and it’s a shame it has to be a NGNG prediction, as it should be nominated on all of the above. And win.
Sigourney Weaver – Supporting Actress
Chayse Irvin – Cinematography
Mia Goth – Actress
Kosinski makes Director, Cruise gets 5th in Actor
Fiennes nominated for the Menu
Kosinski misses director, but Berger gets the spot instead of Cameron
All Quiet and Everything Everywhere lead the nominations tally
Diego Calva
Claire Foy
Brian Tyree Henry
Best Actor – Hugh Jackman for The Son in that fifth slot
Best Supporting Actress – Jamie Lee Curtis is snubbed, Stephanie Hsu is nominated instead
Best Original Song – Taylor Swift is snubbed, LCD Soundsystem gets nominated instead
I think Jackman has a decent shot of getting that fifth slot.
I honestly think so too…everyone is predicting Tom Cruise or Paul Mescal but 1) he’s been campaigning for Ryan Reynolds, subtly putting attention on himself as well, and b) he’s in a prequel to a film playing the son of a character that Anthony Hopkins won an Oscar for just two years ago.
Best Supporting Actress: Michelle Williams (The Fabelmans); Best Actress: Ana de Armas (Blonde); Best Production Design (Nope)
Tom Hanks gets nominated in Actor.
Best Picture: She Said
Best Director: Ruben Ostlund (Triangle Of Sadness)
Best Actress: Andrea Riseborough (To Leslie)
I might be doing a huge mistake but I’m predicting Riseborough.
Ralph Fiennes in Lead Actor
Woody Harrelson in Supporting Actor
Spielberg snubbed in Director
James Hong in supporting actor
Leslie Manville in lead actress
Ryan Coogler in director
Supp Act: Mark Rylance
Supp Actr: Claire Foy
Edit/Sound: Moonage Daydream
Cine: Blonde
* Jennifer Connelly (Top Gun Maverick) is nominated for Best Supporting Actress
* Rian Johnson (Glass Onion) is nominated for Best Director
* The Daniels don’t get nominated for Best Director
On a different note… what I would slip into the nominations…
Moonage Daydream: Picture, Director, Film Editing, Sound, Doc
Nope: Picture, Director, S. Actress (Palmer), S. Actor (Wincott), Original, Film Editing, Cinematography, Production Design, Sound, VFX, Make up, Score
Official Competition – I think it’s not ellegible, though – Picture, Actress, Actor (x2), S. Actor, Original, Production Design, International Film (over Argentina 1985)
Picture: The Menu
Director: Ramajouli, RRR
Actor: Fiennes, The Menu
Actress: Manville, Mrs Harris goes to Paris
S. Actor: James Hong, EEAAO
S. Actress: Whoopi Goldberg, Till
Original Screenplay: The Menu
Adapted Screenplay: Black Panther Wakanda Forever
1. No Spielberg in both directing and screenplay (which would be great).
2. The Daniels and Todd Field miss directing (which would be terrible).
3. RRR receives a total of 0 nominations (which might happen).

They missed out on nominating Zen McGrath in Worst Supporting Actor for The Son. At least Tom Hanks finally scored his first Razzie nominations (even though he’s still my favorite actor) and Blonde received the nominations it deserved.
Blonde wasn’t perfect but it certainly doesn’t deserve to be nominated here.
Stallone doesn’t deserve to be there either.
I understand why people hate the movie, but it was a tour-de-force in its singular vision. I was more engaged with it than, say, Spencer.
No possible crossover with the Oscars this year. Unless the Oscar voters somehow find Hanks worthy of yet another nomination.
