Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire‘s second season and Hacks‘ third season topped the 2024 Dorian TV Award winners with three and four wins each, respectively. One could argue that Ava declaring war against Deborah Vance in the finale of Max’s comedy contender is as bloodthirsty as some lusty vampires.
Double acting wins appeared in both the non-gendered comedy and drama races. Hannah Einbinder and Jean Smart rightfully won trophies for Hacks while the men at the center of Showtime’s Fellow Travelers (Matt Bomer and Jonathan Bailey) took home for the limited series revolving around queer men and women trying to survive McCarthy Era Washington D.C.. All four actors are nominated at this year’s Primetime Emmy Awards–will any repeat in September?
RuPaul’s Drag Race is usually a Dorian mainstay, but this year the nominations might have to serve as the wins as Peacock’s The Traitors took Best Reality Show. Alan Cumming even edged out RuPaul herself for the LGBTQIA+ Trailblazer Award.
