Pablo Trapero is a great filmmaker. Pretty interesting to see Venezuela getting the Golden Lion!
MARCELLO MASTROIANNI PRIZE FOR YOUNG PERFORMER – was the very firsy big prize won by Jennifer Lawrence, few years ago for The Burning Plain
Triple honor for the Golden Lion: first Goldel Lion for Venezula in the very first entry on the competition; first Golden Lion for a South American and a Latin American film as well. Alfonso Cuaron had to answer questions of the press conference of being too kind if fellow latin buddies
Does nobody actually give a shit? This is the oldest film festival in the world and I see three comments? And not one mention of the groundbreaking fact that From Afar is the first Latin American film in history to win the Golden Lion? And in the same year that a fellow Latin American title wins the Silver Lion for Best Director too? Isn’t all of that deserving of rather a little more fanfare than this?
Ooh, Anomalisa. Could it actually get a Best Animated Film nod this year? Should be interesting to see.
Valeria Golino. I remember her from BIG TOP PEE WEE. You know who else was in that don’t you? 🙂 Anyway, Congrats to her.
