Last podcast, we covered the final season premiere of HBO’s celebrated Succession. Yet, we had no idea what was to come. Well, sort of… We get into that a bit, but this weekend’s Episode 3 rocked the television world, delivering series-best writing, direction, and performances. We talk about the episode, our reactions to it, and how it changes the Emmy race moving forward. Or does it change it? Does it really just solidify what was already established?
Then, we dive into Netflix’s Beef, starring Ali Wong and Steven Yeun. Does the road-rage dramedy have what it takes? Or is this an online-only flash in the pan?
As always, we close with the Flash Forward to the media we’re most anticipating in the upcoming week.

The Seventh Episode of Extrapolations plays out as a thematic variation of Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf. It’s the shows best episode. Not because of dramatic tension or anything like that, but because it’s the first episode where hope has faded and people start realizing that there’s no escaping the cruelty of humanity.
I’m sure most will not see the episode that way, even though at times such things are explicitly said in the episode. I’ve been arguing this for years, humans in theory care about climate change, but when you look at our choices, we clearly do not. Humanity will never see a recovered Earth simply because humanity won’t allow it to recover.
The real Emmy Bombshell was the third episode of Schmicago!
Actually, it’s not. But it’s still one of the great episodes of this last year.
Mr. Moye, thank you for this lovely podcast. A good listen.
Thank you for listening!
Do you think Brian Cox will go guest now? I wonder if he’ll appear in two more episodes.
We address this on the podcast, but no, I don’t think Brian Cox will go guest. We believe he will go Supporting this year. There are no rules that prevent someone who appears in a small numbers of episodes from not going for Supporting. The only rules around this are those that force someone not to go in the guest category if they’re in more than 50% of the season. Anyone can go supporting, even if they’re only in 2 or 3 episodes.
