The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, one of the most buzzed-about series of the winter TV season, was the most-watched original scripted series premiere in FX’s 22-year history. On a Live+3 basis, the premiere episode (Tuesday, February 2, premiere and two encores) of the 10-part limited series drew 12 million Total Viewers and 6.1 million Adults 18-49.
The first run of the premiere episode of The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story posted 8.3 million Total Viewers and 4.2 million Adults 18-49. With that, it beat the series premiere of #2-ranked The Shield (3.0 million) by +40% and #3-ranked American Horror Story: Murder House by +50% (2.8 million) among Adults 18-49; and outdelivered the series premiere of The Shield (4.8 million) by +73% and #3-ranked Justified (4.8 million) by +73% in Total Viewers.
The series returns with an all new episode tonight, Tuesday, February 9, at 10PM on FX: “The Run of His Life.” With O.J. Simpson (Cuba Gooding Jr.) missing in the white Bronco, Robert Shapiro (John Travolta) and Robert Kardashian (David Schwimmer) deal with the fallout, as the D.A.’s office and LAPD scramble to save face and find him.
