Schweddy Balls (Saturday Night Live)
When NPR’s Delicious Dish hosts (played by quirky, brilliant Ana Gasteyer and Molly Shannon) begin to introduce their next guest, we appreciate the clever word-play of his bakery named Seasons Eatings. But that’s not even the half of it. Pete Schweddy (delightful Alec Baldwin) is here to endorse his balls – and the juvenile in all of us is exposed. As they discuss his delicious treats, his soft, tender, smelly balls, all manner of hilarity ensues. I laugh countless times during the five minutes or so, and have seen this segment too often to recall. How they don’t crack up while delivering those lines is both astonishing and terrific examples of comic genius.
