New Series

The Adventures of Puss in Boots. Netflix has announced a start date for its animated DreamWorks Animation-produced series The Adventures of Puss in Boots. The streaming content provider will air the first five episodes in the series beginning January 16. Additional episodes will premiere through the rest of the year. (Variety)

Continuing Series

Fashion Police. Comic Kathy Griffin is set to co-host the infamous E! network show Fashion Police, most notable for its evisceration of celebrity fashion during red carpet awards season. Griffin acknowledges the hole left by her predecessor Joan Rivers and plans to tailor the show to her comic sensibilities in advance of Sunday’s Golden Globes ceremony. (THR)

Revenge. Actress Elena Satine has been promoted to series regular on ABC’s soap Revenge. She plays the troubled member of a wealthy Southern family who befriends Victoria Grayson (Madeleine Stowe). (THR)

Scorpion. CBS’s highest rated new show, Scorpion, will be given a plum post-AFC championship game slot on January 18. The series, largely dismissed by critics, has managed to score heavily with viewers, ranking second in 2014 freshman series. (Variety)

In Development

The After. Or, rather, not in development… Amazon Studios has officially cancelled its series order for The After from X-Files creator Chris Carter. Starring Adrian Pasdar and Sharon Lawrence, the pilot originally streamed on Amazon Prime last February after positive viewer response. This series was to be Amazon’s first dramatic series offering, and no specifics were offered as to why they chose not proceed. (Variety)

The Grace Helbig Project. YouTube sensation Grace Helbig has received a series order from E! for a comedy talk show to premiere in April 2015. (Variety)
