We’re continuing our focus to the 71st Annual Primetime Emmy Awards this week. Last week, we took a look at the Limited Series races. Today, we’re looking at the Comedy races – a largely up in the air and unpredictable race. Once upon a time, this was Veep’s victory lap.
However, with a divisive final season and large drop in nominations, can Veep still take home the big trophy? Or will two critical smashes in their sophomore seasons – HBO’s Barry and Amazon Prime’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel – step in? Or is there a dark horse candidate ready and waiting? We give our mostly final predictions after some general discussion on each major race.
