It’s been five years since Steve McQueen gave us 12 Years A Slave and now he delivers Widows, a modern-day heist thriller led by Viola Davis. Davis plays Veronica, a recent widow who decides to finish the heist her dead husband had planned. She gathers Elizabeth Debicki, Michelle Rodriguez, and Cynthia Erivo as they take their future and their fate into their own hands.
Widows also stars Liam Neeson, Colin Farrell, Robert Duvall, Daniel Kaluuya, Lukas Haas and Brian Tyree Henry. McQueen co-wrote the film with Gone Girl author Gillian Flynn.
