What a film this is. It is, like Cuaron’s work in general, unique, daring, beautiful, painful and brilliant. Roma is a slow burn that will particularly delight fans of Cuaron’s work, who will see references and mini origin stories of the ideas that propelled his later works. All of that is here in Roma, his ode to his childhood and the women who guided it.
