The Critics Choice Reveal Documentary Nominations

And prove none of them ever read 1984

The Critics Choice Reveal Documentary Nominations

The CCA just voted for their documentary nominations and Orwell: 2+2=5 leads with seven nominations. It’s the height of irony that the same industry that became the book 1984 without realizing it will now use the book to make it seem like they are on the other side. But doesn’t that just say everything about film awards now? A flattering magic mirror and the truth be damned?

They could have no idea that THEY are the 2+2=5 side. And by “they” I mean Hollywood in general and the Left. They are the “inside” that has locked out the Proles on the “outside.” They are Big Brother, who monitors everyone for their thoughts and speech. But they’re also the side that has to see themselves as the good side. They don’t understand 1984, but they know it’s a great book, and if they can shapeshift it into yet another minute of the Two Minutes of Hate, they’re good with that.

And by the way, the new edition of the paperback has a trigger warning in it. No joke, it does. If that isn’t the final irony, I don’t know what is. But do you think that will be in the Orwell doc? No chance.

I expect this “documentary” to go all the way to the Oscars. I just wish more people really understood the book. We would not be in this mess, and Hollywood would not be collapsing.
