I had to laugh when I clicked on Deadline and saw Ben Shapiro smirking on an FYC ad. This, after the internet threw a fit because Gold Derby interviewed him. I’m guessing the Daily Wire spent big on a splashy ad campaign with Penske Media, and they took it because I assume Penske and Co. aren’t as puritanical as their writers.
“Gold Derby Staff” wrote the piece, and in the Making of the Ben Shapiro Show is none other than Marcus James Dixon, among many who hunted me down like an animal over my tweets until I had to block him – I’m fairly sure he’s one of them.

Perhaps Marcus has turned a page and become semi-normal?

Does he suffer any consequences for daring to speak to Ben Shapiro and his producers? Probably not, although you never know. Here is how many on X reacted to the interview. Note the first tweet, how ET Kevins Mind — quite a prominent Film Twitter type — name checks me and somehow calls this whole thing fascist.

It’s a tragedy that none of them know what the word “fascist” actually means. If they did, they might realize they are the fascists after all.
Ben Shapiro is among those eligible for the Golden Globe, and Shapiro, of course, knows that they will never allow him to dirty up their purified waters, but he’s spending lots of money to make a point, and I think it’s a good one. He’s being perfectly polite and conciliatory as the scolds caterwaul into infinity. But I think we all know how this will go. They’ll pick the most reflective of the Left’s utopian worldview. They won’t pick the most successful. They can’t because most of them are on the Right.
What was funny about this is that Gold Derby “benched” me after the story came out in the Hollywood Reporter about me, and now, the snake is eating its own tail. I will never shame them for it, however, on the contrary. I think Penske should fire anyone who would and bring in more fair-minded, rational, reasonable people who live in the real world. But that’s just me.
