“I’m a ’90s girl,” says actress tawny Cypress, who plays Tai on Showtime’s Yellowjackets. “I’m stuck in the ’90s!”
A very fitting statement coming from one of the characters of the most captivating show of the year, which follows a high school girls’ soccer team whose plane crashes in 1996 and how the decisions they made then are still impacting their life now.
During the 2022 SCAD TVfest this past February, I had the chance to chat with the cast of one of my favorite shows (even if I did not know I would be on camera—sorry for the hoodie and disheveled hair). I asked them about what ’90s references they used for their performances (Stephen King and the band Live come up) and what the younger cast learned about the decade (Liv Hewson, who plays Van, made a ’90s playlist!).
