No one in the real world would believe how crazy Film Twitter is, or just Gossip Twitter or just Left Twitter. The insanity around Sydney Sweeny’s jeans ad was downplayed, hilariously, by the New York Times and the Pod Save America bros. But here we are again!
Sydney Sweeney gave an interview where she was asked if she “denounces white supremacy” or some such. She didn’t apologize. She didn’t capitulate. She said “I made a jeans ad.” And she’s right. They decided to interpret it as racist and they were wrong. Unfortunately, we have a culture that too often allows these people to have too much power. Here is the full interview.
They decided she was guilty because of how they chose to interpret the ad, which is not that different from how many of them chose to interpret Taylor Swift’s song Opalite as “racist.” In both cases, the women are targets because they are white and they are blonde and that means you can say and do anything and no one will object because how can they?

Sweeney is not allowed, by new society rules, to stand up for herself and not dissolve into a puddle of self-hate when the internet throws a fit based on their own interpretation of what she did and what she thinks and how she feels.
The mob has been emboldened so that every time they point their finger and throw a fit everyone buckles under the pressure of it. It has lessened somewhat but they really want to flex their power and try to destroy the career of Sydney Sweeney. Yeah, good luck with that.
The journalist knew she had to talk about it. She knew everyone would be holding her to account to make Sweeney squirm and if she didn’t, she would be attacked. She couldn’t not ask the question. But I would have dug in a little more and spoke indirectly to the glaring mob, the scolds, the totalitarians. I would ask Sweeney what she thinks about how insane they are. That’s what I would have done. Sydney Sweeney is the normal one here.
Hollywood would have been much better off if they did not hand over their power to the people who have decided their interpretation of what someone says is intent. They have erased intent, in fact, and now believe impact is all. So it doesn’t matter what you meant to do or what you meant to say, their accusation is enough to convict you in the court of public opinion. Unfortunately, this power was given over willingly and that power is out now and it’s become almost impossible to put back in the bottle.
These are the Evergreen Generation. Remember Evergreen? It would make a great series or movie only Hollywood has been castrated beyond repair. Castration seems to be a running theme on the Totalitarian Left. Men are gone, masculinity is gone, and Hollywood — and much of American culture under the Left’s control — has become absent a pair of swinging balls. Otherwise, they would tell these psychotic people to POUND SAND.
But imagine if anyone, Aaron Sorkin, Adam McKay, any writer or director actually turning this into a movie, how great it would be.
They won’t because they’re TOO CHICKEN SHIT. Why? Because they know the mob will come for them and these folks have been raised by helicopter moms who coddled them, and a system of education and therapy culture that raised them to be fragile. So everything to them is some sort of threat and attack. What’s funny about it where Sydney Sweeney is concerned is that they think this means the end of her career. All she did was not dignify the absurd accusations. That’s all she did. They were stupid to begin with. And by the way, pick a lane. Either it happened or it didn’t, New York Times.

You can leave the Right out of it. This one is all on you.

Here is Aimee Lou Wood who was sad because SNL mocked her and I defended her over that. Now, she’s happy to pile on as another woman is bullied online.

All the way back in 2000, Rod Lurie made a film called The Contender. It was obviously in the era when Hollywood — still in the pocket of the Democrats, as they are now — wanted to excuse “bad behavior” or character attacks. That flipped after Obama won, but this Sydney Sweeney story reminds me of this scene in The Contender when it just beneath her dignity to comment on something so stupid.
I am proud of Sydney Sweeney for not dignifying it with a response.
So, here’s the thing, Hollywood. It’s over. You have given up almost everything for the totalitarians and it’s not been worth it. It has meant nothing less than the collapse of a once-mighty empire. Sydney Sweeney has done nothing wrong. She made a video about “good genes” because she has a worldclass set of knockers and she was winking at that to sell jeans. Everything that came after was a typical cancel culture witch hunt.
And if the hive mind punishes her, or Hollywood punishes her, well — I’ll have to give you all a healthy dose of Al Pacino. You’re building a RAT SHIP here.
To capitulate and apologize to these DISGUSTING MONSTERS perpetuates this cycle. Let it be over. I beg of you. And to Ms. Sweeney, I offer a crisp salute. Well done, oh brave one.
