“You gave me the most important thing life can offer, you gave me a family.” The official trailer for Mr. Church has been released. The film stars Eddie Murphy as a cook named Henry Joseph Church. What is meant to be a short-term job, turns into a touching story about enduring friendship.
The film is based on the real-life experiences of Susan McMartin who wrote the screenplay. Set in Los Angeles, young Charlotte aged 10 wakes up one morning to find Mr. Church cooking breakfast for her and her mother, Marie (Natascha McElhone). Mr. Church plays jazz as he cooks and spends time introducing Charlotte to the classics, what starts as a tense relationship between the two, turns into a deep bond that develops and deepens between Charlotte and Mr. Church.
Bruce Beresford (Driving Miss Daisy) directs. The film also stars Xavier Samuel and Lucy Fry.
